Airports Company South Africa (ACSA) this week revealed that Cape Town International Airport (CTIA) has achieved a ground-breaking milestone by processing more than 10 million passengers over a single financial year.

This is the highest number of regional and international passengers processed since COVID-19

According to ACSA’s Cluster 2 Regional General Manager, Mark Maclean, the organisation recorded a steady increase in passenger volumes this year that has consistently surpassed historic passenger volumes.

CTIA achieved this record during the 2023/24 financial year, hitting the 10 million mark by processing over 320 000 passengers in March this year alone â€` a whopping monthly figure that exceeded projections.

This resurgence in passenger volumes follows a significant influx in activity during the peak season.

A statement released by ACSA says the resurgence indicates a promising trajectory for CTIA’s continued growth and, in light of airlines augmenting flight frequencies as well as a renewed confidence in the Mother City’s appeal, CTIA is preparing to commence with various expansion projects to enhance its infrastructure and facilities.
